Balakrishna Homestay, Location: Madikeri, North Coorg

It is literally on top of a hill and view is amazing. The private balcony connected to the room offers great views. Breakfast was nominal. For lunch and dinner(if you like a much bigger spread), I would recommend visiting the hotels in Madikeri, which is 10 mins away from the house. The owner is a elderly gentleman, happy and caring person.

Location is peaceful , calm with amazing views of mountains. Food was great, South Indian food along with some local dishes . Host Babu took very good care during our stay. All in all had a very warm comfortable stay, memorable and perfect family outing.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Balakrishna Niwas Homestay, and it was an outstanding experience. The hospitality of the hosts, especially Mr. Babu, was exceptional. He made me feel welcomed and at home from the moment I arrived, treating us like family.

The rooms were immaculate, well-appointed, and offered a perfect blend of comfort and traditional charm. The location was serene and provided a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The home-cooked meals were delicious, showcasing authentic local flavors and made with fresh ingredients. We had plenty of food in generous quantities but never felt bloated, uncomfortable, or worried about overindulgence.

The hosts were also incredibly helpful in providing tips and recommendations for exploring the local area.

Overall, Balakrishna Niwas Homestay exceeded all my expectations. It's a perfect choice for anyone looking for a cozy, comfortable, and memorable stay. I highly recommend it and look forward to returning in the future.

Superb property, maintained and owned by Shri. Babooji, an Army veteran. We reached there after sunset and found it a bit difficult to reach the property(on the hilltop), but Shri. Babooji guided us to the Homestay. A very cosy and comfortable stay, we were taken care of well by the host. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, with local delicacies and fruits.

What an interesting place.
The room is the biggest we have stayed in...10mx5m and 3-4m high to the apex of the ceiling. Windows on 2 sides including a huge picture window and balcony looking across the valley.

We arrived by bus to Madikeri and Mr Babu helpfully collected us in the town and took us on to Virajpet at the end of out trip. He also arranged tuk tuk for us.
He was very generous with fruit and snacks and helpful with everything.
Breakfast was great but he is less geared up to evening meals.

This is a very nice place on a hill in the forests around Madikeri. We had a tranquil and relaxed stay and were in the best hands. The owner took good care and provided tasty meals as well as a very good coffee. The room was clean and with a balcony providing a nice view into the hills of the western Ghats. We can only recommend this place, especially if you are plan to stay close to Madikeri.

There could be many other accommodations providing equal or more comforts than Balkrishna Niwas, yet else where one won't be able to have Babu Sir and that alone makes all the difference.
Babu Sir ,who is a spirituality enlightened army man for whom being the host is not a profession but for him it's a passion.
Here one would be treated like a close family and not as tourist and shall get the feeling that one have arrived at the respected and beloved friends home.
His love and caring is unforgettable.
The rooms are quite specious with very elegant furniture. All rooms are with balcony, viewing below the lush green valley.
If one is at Madikeri, there is no second thought, one should grab the opportunity to stay at Balkrishna Niwas and a privilege to be guest of Babu sir, a gem of a person.

Balakrishna Niwas is a beautiful home, on top of a hill, surrounded by beautiful scenic views all around - but that is secondary to the hospitality of Babu Sir who will take care of you like family. He is the warmest person whose hospitality is unparalleled. You get treated to hot, homely meals with a variety of local dishes and coffee from the nearby estate. Would love to stay at Balakrishna Niwas when I visit Coorg again only to experience Babu Sir's hospitality one more time.

The property is at a good proximity from Madikeri town, but still isolated for those who need a quiet space. The final approach road is a steep winding slope so one needs to plan vehicular travel accordingly. All rooms are spacious and have beautiful views!

It was a great stay at Balakrishna. Spacious neat room clean bathroom make you feel very comfortable. Scenic view in every room. Safe place for family and friendly environment.
Babu Sir who is caretaker over there makes you feel very comfortable. Polite and gentleman.
Overall our stay was wonderful over there.

Excellent place. The views from the balcony are splendid.
Great Host, a very fit and fine senior citizen. Simple but tasty breakfast and hospitality. Loved it.
